Since Mumbai University does not have the relevant faculty and courses ready, the educational institutes have not been able to start the 'BBA' and 'BCA' courses from the academic year 2024-25. Therefore, most of the students have been deprived of this course. The demand of Mumbai University to seriously consider and take necessary action to start the 'BBA' and 'BCA' courses anew from the academic year 2025-26 is getting stronger.

All India Council of Technical Education i.e. AICTE has decided to bring BBA, BCA and BMS courses under its purview from the academic year 2024-25. Also, the approval of 'AICTE' was also made mandatory for the colleges to implement these courses. After that, as per the circular of 'AICTE', most of the professional educational institutes had applied for these courses by paying the required fee. Approval was also given to start this course from the academic year 2024-25. After that, the application was submitted to the University of Mumbai for approval by duly paying the fee. But since the respective study board and syllabus are not ready for these courses, the concerned colleges have been informed by the University of Mumbai that 'BBA' and 'BCA' courses cannot be started from the academic year 2024-25.

"It was necessary to establish a Board of Studies in the actual university and approve these courses. The said courses have been conducted in Savitribai Phule Pune University and other reputed universities for many years. Therefore, the university should take immediate steps and form study boards for the said courses. A letter has also been given to the Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University in this regard. If this course is not started from the academic year 2025-26, the Yuva Sena will strongly protest and meet the Chancellor and the Governor and present a statement of all the problems faced by the students of Mumbai University," said Pradeep Sawant, member of the Thackeray Group Yuva Sena Executive Council.
