Mumbai University has decided to extend its deadline for the pre-admission online registration on Friday, August 7, after receiving multiple requests from the students.

This decision came after several students complained of experiencing irregularities with regards to the internet and poor connectivity due to the incessant rainfall in Mumbai. Students have now been permitted to register on the portal from August 7 to August 14. However, the students will only be able to apply to individual colleges after the third merit list is out.

Earlier on August 6, degree colleges released their first merit list as a part of the Mumbai University’s admission process for first-year undergraduate courses.

For BA courses, the cut off at Xavier’s is at 92 per cent for HSC students and 98.60 per cent for other boards whereas Mithibai College has announced its cut-off percentage to be at 96 per cent. Compared to 93 per cent in 2019, this year the cut-off at KC College is 96 per cent and Ramnarain Ruia College ended the first merit list on 95.6 per cent compared to 95 per cent last year.

However, as per reports, traditional courses like bachelor of science (BSc) and a bachelor of science in information technology (BSc-IT) or computer science (BSc-CS) have received more applications this year across several colleges.
