The first merit list for degree admission was announced on June 19 at 11 am. This year, along with traditional courses, self-financed courses seem to be most preferred by students.


The pre-admission online registration process for first year degree courses in colleges and educational institutions affiliated to the University of Mumbai was conducted from May 27 to June 15, 2023. During this period 2 lakh 41 thousand 532 students have registered online before admission. The university has received 6 lakh 67 thousand 864 applications for various courses. After the announcement of the first merit list, the students have to check the documents and pay the fee online from June 20 to June 27 (up to 3 pm) along with the guarantee application.

Students can check the first merit list on the website of the applied college or by visiting the actual college. The second merit list will be released on Wednesday June 28 at 7:00 pm and the deadline for online document verification and fee payment along with guarantee application is from June 30 to July 5 (up to 3 PM). After the announcement of the third merit list for degree admission on Thursday July 6 at 11 am, the students have to check the documents online along with the guarantee application and pay the fee from July 7 to July 10.


6.67 lakh applications

Mumbai University has received 6 lakh 67 thousand 864 applications for various courses. Among the traditional courses, 44,211 applications have been filed for arts, 29,588 for science and 1 lakh 27 thousand 905 for commerce for BMS in the commerce branch which comes under self-financed courses. Maximum 1 lakh 30 thousand 930 applications have been filed for this course. In Science, for B.Sc IT course 88,149 applications have been admitted, for B.Com Accounts and Finance courses 71,431 applications have been filed, 48,874 applications for Computer Science course, 26,448 applications in Arts for BA MMC course, 17,338 applications for B.Sc Biotechnology course and 14,016 applications have been filed for B.Com Banking and Insurance course.
