On Monday, August 24, Mumbai University released the fourth merit list for undergraduate degree seats.

While some colleges did not have any seats vacant for the aspiring students, several other colleges witnessed higher cut-offs than the previous merit list which was announced last week. For some colleges, this was not the fourth merit list but simply the second round of admission by the Mumbai University for the students who might have missed out the first round.

However, colleges like St Xavier’s at Dhobi Talao in Mumbai had no vacant seats left for this round. On the other hand, the administration of KC College in Churchgate decided to give a chance to students whose names had already appeared in their previous lists but could not complete the process due to several problems. Most of these colleges announced their fourth list on their respective college websites.

In the past, back in the first week of August, degree colleges released their first merit list as a part of the Mumbai University’s admission process for first-year undergraduate courses. The cut-offs for the courses seemed to have increased marginally this year.

On August 25, Mumbai University released details with regards to conducting online classes for the academic year 2020-21. In order to run the process smoothly, teachers have been asked to divide each subject into four quadrants, which are video lectures, specially prepared reading material that can be downloaded and printed, self-assessment tests through tests and quizzes and an online discussion forum to clear all doubts of students who are being taught through this e-learning method.
