The dates for Lok Sabha elections have been announced, and keeping the same in mind, officials at The University of Mumbai (MU) have decided to reschedule 76 semester examination. As per reports, the overlap was due to the four phases of general elections which are scheduled on April 11, 18 and 23 and 29, 2019.

This includes examinations of sixth-semester BMS, BCom (Accounting and Finance) and BCom (Banking and Insurance courses. As per officials, the dates have been pushed ahead by a few days. Other 27 examinations of the sixth-semester BCom course will be held on other dates, which are yet to be finalised. However, it is being said that the final exams of many self-financed courses will now be held on May 2, 2019, and not on April 22, 2019.

Talking about the same, Vinod Patil, director, examination and evaluation board has said that the university has tried to make minimal changes regarding the same.

The decision was also taken as the colleges will be used for exams as well as and polling centres. Moreover, many teachers have been assigned various election duties during specific dates.
