IIT Entrance Exam In August, JEE Main From July 18-23

There has been a lot of uncertainty regarding the competitive exams for engineering and Medical aspirants. Today, HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal cleared some doubts regarding the same and also announced the new dates for these competitive exams.

JEE-Mains exams will now be held from 18-23 July while, JEE-Advanced exams will be held in August. It has also been shared that the medical entrance exam NEET will be conducted on 26 July.

This announcement was made by HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal while he was interacting with students in a webinar.

The exams were earlier scheduled in the month of April but had to be cancelled due to the nationwide lockdown.

Commenting on this development, Pramod Maheshwari, Managing Director & CEO, Career Point said, “In a relief for engineering and medical aspirants, the HRD ministry has announced fresh dates for competitive exams JEE and NEET. The announcement of the dates has put an end to uncertainty for the aspirants and they can continue the preparation with a clear mind. Thanks to technology, learning can continue for national exams during this lockdown period. Students can connect in real time through various online platforms and keep in touch with subjects and never lose the momentum of preparation.”


Every year lakhs of students appear for these competitive exams and also undergo rigorous training regarding cracking these. This year, more than 15 lakh students across the country have registered for NEET, while more than 9 lakh have registered for JEE Mains.

In addition to this, the ministry also put all the speculations regarding the conducting of remaining papers of the Class 10 Board exam to an end today. The Ministry of Humans Resource Development (MHRD) on Tuesday announced that no board examinations will be held for Class 10 students nationwide, except for the students from North-East Delhi.
