New academic year in Maharashtra to begin from June 14

Schools across the state of Maharashtra have announced the summer vacation for primary, secondary and higher secondary schools. The same began from Saturday, May 1, 2021 and will continue until June 13, 2021. Officials from the government have confirmed that the next academic year 2021-22 for the schools will begin from Monday June 14, 2021.

A notice issued was issued regarding the same, and keeping Vidarbha's conditions in mind, schools in the respective region will start from Monday, June 28, 2021. 

Keeping the same in mind, the Director of Education has recently informed all the Divisional Deputy Directors of Education. A letter was shared regarding the same. Furthermore, in order to ensure smooth functioning the holidays, officials have decided on the holidays of the upcoming academic year, Instructions regarding these holidays have been given to all recognized government primary, secondary and higher secondary schools, junior colleges and military schools in the district.  

As per reports, the holidays should not exceed 76 days. Moreover, the officials have also informed that the long summer and diwali holidays have been reduced. Instead, the schools will be compensated with the same during Ganeshotsav or Christmas. Permission for the same should be sought from the concerned District Education Officer, for both Primary and Secondary classes.

Moreover, the officials have stated that care should be taken to ensure that the total number of holidays in the academic year do not exceed 76 days as per Rule 52.2 of the Secondary School Code.

At present, all the Municipal Corporations and the Government, Private - Primary and Secondary, and Junior Colleges in the State are closed due to the spread of Coronavirus in the State. Keeping th esame in mind, decisions will be taken about reopening the schools for the academic year 2021-22, Orders will be issued in a timely manner by the government.
