Even as Class 11 admissions in Maharashtra have already picked up pace following the declaration of SSC results in May 2026, the admission process for polytechnic diploma and ITI courses is yet to begin, leaving students and parents in a state of uncertainty.

Officials from the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE Maharashtra) said the delay is due to ongoing website development and technical upgrades required for the online admission portal. As a result, the detailed admission schedule, including registration dates, option form filling, and merit list announcements, has not yet been released.

Normally, the polytechnic and ITI admission process begins shortly after SSC results in May–June, with counselling and seat allotment continuing through June and July. However, this year the schedule has been pushed back, and officials have indicated that the revised timeline will be announced only after the system upgrade is fully completed.

The delay has left thousands of students who passed the SSC examinations in March–April 2026 waiting to plan their next academic step. Many are concerned that further postponement could compress the admission window and affect the start of the academic year, which typically begins around July–August.

Education experts and parents have urged the authorities to expedite the process and ensure that the admission cycle is completed on time to avoid disruption to the academic calendar.
