Maharashtra: RTE Admission 2021-22 to start from March 3

Admissions under Right to Admission (RTE) will begin from March 3, 2021. Parents who wish to make use of this and enrol their children for free education into private-unaided schools can apply online for RTE Act admission. In private-unaided schools, 25 per cent of seats are reserved under this act.

Parents availing this for the academic year 2021-22 will need to fill the online registration form and submit financial proof documents via the online portal https://student.maharashtra.gov.in/adm_portal/Users/rteindex.

For the academic year 2021-22, under RTE there are 6,463 vacant seats in 352 Mumbai schools. While in Maharashtra there are 96,801 vacant seats in 9,431 schools in a total of 36 districts. Out of the 352 schools in Mumbai, 292 follow the CBSE board while the rest 62 boards follow the other board. 

Under RTE admissions, students can avail free and compulsory education till Class 8 in private-unaided schools. 

In the previous year, more than 31,000 students had applied under RTE education.  The last date to apply for admission under RTE is March 21.
