The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has again extended the deadline for applications for admission to the first year of the Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) course. Accordingly, students will be able to submit applications from July 2 to 4. This is the last extension to apply.

The admission process for the first year Diploma (Polytechnic) courses in Engineering and Technology/Architecture after 10th standard for the academic year 2025-26 was started on May 20, 2025. Students were initially given a deadline of June 26 to apply online.

However, in view of the excellent response received for the admission process, the Directorate of Technical Education had decided to extend the deadline for registration of admission applications for the Diploma in Engineering till June 30, 2025.

However, although many students have registered their applications, they have not paid the application fee and have not finalised them. Therefore, students were demanding an extension of the deadline for application registration. Taking this into consideration, it was decided to extend the deadline for the Engineering Diploma course until July 4 to avoid academic loss to the students.

Therefore, students will be able to submit applications between July 2 and 4. Only candidates who finalise their applications during this period will be included in the final merit list, said Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.

1 lakh 58 thousand students registered

1 lakh 58 thousand 876 students registered for the Diploma in Engineering course within the deadline of June 30. Out of these, 1 lakh 38 thousand 298 students have submitted their applications after paying the fee. Considering the response and demand of the students, the process has been extended by three more days, informed Chandrakant Patil.

More students should take admission

Four rounds of admission will be conducted under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) this year for the Diploma in Engineering course. The first preference will be mandatory for the first round, the first three preferences for the second round, the first six preferences for the third round, and all preferences for the fourth round.

Chandrakant Patil also appealed to the students to fill out the preferred application form for the cap round and take admission in the engineering degree course through the centralised admission process.
