Once again, students along with their parents, have demanded the class 12 board examinations to be cancelled and for the Maharashtra state board to announce the SSC assessment pattern at the earliest.

According to reports, several people took to social media to state the same. “The government is not understanding the pressure, stress and anxiety which each student is going through. Hoping that they don’t play with our mental health anymore and take a final call on it soon! #DONTIGNORE12THSTUDENTS,” said Twitter user and student Yash Bafna.

On the other hand, reports had earlier suggested that with the state government drafting an alternative assessment pattern in place of the cancelled SSC class 10 examinations, there was growing demand from parents and students for a similar decision for class 12 examinations.

Furthermore, more than 17 lakh and 13 lakh students appear for the SSC and HSC exams in the state each year. The father of an HSC student said, “There is a lot of uncertainty with respect to Class 12 exams. Students do not know if and when the exams will be conducted, and they are really getting frustrated as a result of it. The government needs to take a decision to relieve them of this anxiety.”

The Maharashtra board exams of Class 12 were to earlier begin from April 23 and of Class 10 from April 30. However, keeping in mind that the country is grappling with the second wave the decision to postpone the exam has been taken.
