The State Government recently announced that they’re planning to scrap oral examination for language-based subjects. This decision hasn’t been accepted by the teachers' union well, as they’ve objected to it. They believe scrapping vivas will have a negative effect on students.

Education minister Vinod Tawde doesn’t trust the State Board teachers and has taken this decision giving marks bias as the reason,” Ashok Belsare, head of ‘Shikshak Bharati’.

Students’ reading, conversational and oration skills are tested during viva exams. CBSE board and other boards conduct vivas so why should State Board students be exempted of vivas for language-based exams? If the government doesn’t revoke its decision to scrap oral exams, we will protest along with parents.”
