On July 31, 2018, the third merit list for the First Year Junior Colleges (FYJC) will be declared on the state education department’s website post 11:00 am. In round three of the admissions, students will compete for 99,735 seats across city colleges.

There will be almost one lakh seats that will be reserved for the centralised admission process (CAP). However, with 58,000 minority quota seats still out of the admission system, students will have to decide if they want to confirm their seat or wait for the process to conclude.

On July 12, the Bombay High Court’s Nagpur bench asked the government in its interim order to fill their minority, in-house and management quota seats till the end of the CAP rounds. Due to this decision, over 58,000 quota seats meant for general category students, were given back to the colleges, leaving students and parents from the open category in the lurch.

Meanwhile, students can confirm their admissions to the colleges allotted to them between July 31, 2018, and August 2, 2018.
