Eight ex-Indian naval officers working in a private company in Qatar were sentenced to death by a lower court in Qatar. He was arrested on August 30, 2022 by security forces in Qatar. But, India used diplomacy to free its former naval officers from there. There was an allegation of espionage against these eight people. After Qatar handed down the sentence, India immediately started efforts to secure their release. Also completed the documents that were about them. After that, the death sentence of these eight persons was commuted to life imprisonment. But now they have been released. Seven of them have returned home. Meanwhile, there are rumours that these former naval officers were saved not by Indian diplomacy but by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.


Shah Rukh Khan is currently in Doha, Qatar. Shah Rukh Khan has been invited as the Chief Guest for the FAC Cup final held in Doha. During this visit to Doha, Shah Rukh met the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jasim Al Thani. A photo of Shah Rukh and the Prime Minister of Qatar is also going viral on social media. Rumours then spread on social media that Shah Rukh had used his identity to rescue ex-Indian naval officers imprisoned in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gone on a visit to Qatar. Earlier, BJP leader and former MP Subramanian Swamy created a sensation by posting a post on the microblogging platform X. Swamy had said in his post that Modi requested Shah Rukh Khan to intervene in the matter after India's Ministry of External Affairs failed to persuade the Sheikhs of Qatar. The sheikhs of Qatar then expressed their willingness to release their former naval officers. So Modi should take Shah Rukh Khan along with him when he goes to Qatar.”


Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's office has clarified about the rumours on social media. Shah Rukh's office manager Pooja Dadlani posted a post on Instagram. It has been said that superstar Shah Rukh Khan has nothing to do with the release of ex-Indian naval officers in Qatar.
