Actress Amrita Rao along with Mumbai's Beach Warrior Chinu Khwatra launched a campaign for eco-friendly Ganpati festival on Thursday, August 8 at Juhu. Talking about the same Amrita Rao said,

The campaign is named as Eco Bappa Morya and this is a pre-awareness campaign to promote eco-friendly visarjan and eco-friendly idols during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. I'm not talking as an actress but as a Mumbaikar that it is really important for us to come up and work for the cause. We have along with us Mumbai's Beach Warrior Chinu Khwatra who has been an important person behind several beach clean-ups that were held across the city. We request all Mumbaikars to do our best towards the environment and use eco-friendly idols rather than Plaster Of Paris (POP) idols.

Notably, Ganesh Chaturthi will commence from Monday, September 2.
