BMC deploys dust suppression vehicle; Mumbai records Moderate AQI for 3 days

Previously, dust suppression vehicles were stationed at eight locations: Worli Sea Face, Haji Ali, Pedder Road, Girgaum Chowpatty, Nariman Point, Fashion Street, Badhwar Park, and the World Trade Centre.

Amid air quality crisis, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), on Wednesday morning, October 25, deployed a dust suppression vehicle at Marine Drive where a layer of haze was visible.

Mumbai’s air quality index (AQI) was in moderate category as it stood at 142 on Wednesday, October 25, compared to the 127 recorded on Monday morning, October 23.

Besides, at the beginning of this month, Mumbai's air quality was categorized as 'good.'

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city recorded a maximum temperature of 35-36 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23-24 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, October 24.

Worli - 175 - Moderate

CSMIA Area (Airport) - 160 - Moderate

Mazgaon - 143 - Moderate

Kurla - 153 - Moderate

Notably, Mumbai was ranked as the second most polluted city in the world, with an overall AQI value of 167 (in the afternoon) according to the live city AQI ranking, and it was listed among cities with the most polluted air by IQAir, a Swiss firm, on Monday, October 23.
