Some parts of the state witnessed good monsoon rains on Saturday. Vidarbha, Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Konkan recorded moderate to heavy rain since Saturday morning. Similarly, the weather department has warned Raigad and Ratnagiri of very heavy rain (orange alert).


Rain will occur in various parts of Maharashtra. Also, the southwest monsoon has advanced towards Mumbai and Delhi on Sunday, the Meteorological Department said.


A 'yellow alert' has been issued for Palghar, Mumbai, Thane and Sindhudurg. In the last 24 hours, 104 mm of rain has been recorded in Mumbai city, 123 mm in the eastern suburbs, and 139 mm in the western suburbs, the Meteorological Department informed.


Rain forecast for the next five days

Monsoon is likely to be active in the state for the next five days. Konkan and Vidarbha are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rains for a few days. Heavy rain is also predicted in Pune, Satara, Nashik. So, rain will be good in Marathwada also.
