Maharashtra is experiencing severe heatwave conditions, with Akola recording the highest temperature in the state this April.

According to reports, Akola touched 46.9°C, making it one of the hottest days of the season so far. Several parts of the Vidarbha region are also facing extreme heat, with temperatures consistently crossing 45°C in districts such as Amravati, Wardha, and Nagpur.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave alerts for the region, warning of continued hot and dry conditions along with strong warm winds over the coming days.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses.
