According to reports, from Tuesday, April 27, to Thursday, April 29, several parts of interior Maharashtra will get rains and thunderstorms.

Moreover, there is a chance that Mumbai or at least Thane interiors will get light rain on one of these days. On the other hand, earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted that the country is going to receive 98 per cent of the average rainfall this year.

In addition, it has predicted long-term rainfall from June to September. The meteorological department further forecasted favourable monsoon in India due to favourable changes in the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.

Furthermore, above-average rainfall in Maharashtra can be expected this year. The state had received good rainfall last year as well. Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Konkan and Western Maharashtra are expected to receive 35 to 55 per cent above average rainfall. The rest of the state is expected to receive the same amount of rainfall on average.

The initial forecast by the IMD shows that barring India’s East and Northeast, which includes Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, North-Chhattisgarh, East UP and Assam, rainfall in all other regions of the country is expected to be normal. However, according to reports, below-normal rains in East and North-East India are not always harmful as the quantum of rains in these parts and also the daily average is higher than other regions of the country
