In addition to this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast thunderstorms  in and around Mumbai from June 10-12. This will be accompanied by lightning and winds reaching 30-40 kmph. The areas that are expected to receive rainfall during these days include Thane, and Palghar.

On Sunday, the monsoon has made steady progress and reached parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It will continue to make its progress and reach Mumbai in the coming few days.
