The India Meteorological Department (IMD)'s regional meteorological department has warned Mumbaikars of more warmer days after a spell of pleasant days in the past week.

The weather department has said that the day temperature in Mumbai could go up to 37-38 degrees Celsius over the next few days. However, no heatwave warnings has been issued yet.

According to experts, interior regions could soar to around 41-42 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, March 19, the IMD's Santacruz and Colaba observatory recorded the maximum temperature of 34.2 and 32.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

Meanwhile, the daytime temperature in Mumbai on Wednesday, March 20, was likely reached at 36 degrees Celsius as per the weather department.

The heat started to peak this Monday, March 18, as maximum temperature recorded by the Colaba observatory was 30.8 degrees Celsius while the Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius.

Other areas are also expected to witness heat, with Kalyan, Badlapur reaching 41-42 degrees, Thane, Mulund at 41 degrees and Panvel, Navi Mumbai surpassing 40 degrees. The Western line is expected to record temperatures of 37-38 degrees, with Dadar reaching 35-36 degrees and South Mumbai experiencing 34 degrees.
