In the year 2019, Rain has been a constant companion for Mumbaikars. In December, people have managed to get some respite but seems that the clouds and rain could well be a part of the New Year celebrations as well.

Thanks to the wind convergence over central India parts of Mumbai City received isolated rainfall. People in Andheri, Thane and Powai were seen sharing pictures and posts regarding drizzle in their area.

According to the weather forecast, the unseasonal showers are likely to continue on Thursday as well. It was also said that the clouds might dampen the sighting of solar eclipse too for the Mumbaikars, which was not entirely true.

The only good thing that has come out of this unseasonal rainfall is that the maximum temperature in the city has dropped by a couple of notches. The weather monitoring in both Colaba and Santacruz have recorded a 2°C decrease in maximum temperatures.

Some places surrounding Mumbai such as Beed, Mahabaleshwar, Nashik and Pune’s Shivajinagar too have received some isolated rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The forecast for the coming days too for the Mumbai is similar to that of Thursday. As per IMD, "partly cloudy skies" and slight rainfall is expected on all days starting December 28, until January 1, 2020. So it is expected that after a wet Christmas, rain might be a companion for Mumbaikars on New Year’s eve as well.
