Mumbai averted a major disaster last week as the cyclone did not do any extensive damage to the maximum city. However, the day after there was heavy rainfall in many parts of the city. The monsoon is expected to reach the city in the coming week but the city can expect light rainfall from today to the next 3-4 days.
While there are a few more days for the monsoon to reach Mumbai, these pre-monsoon showers will help keep the temperature of the city in the pleasant range. Thanks to this scattered rainfall the temperature of the city will remain in the more moderate zone, which will ensure that people don't feel too hot.
Talking to Mumbai Live, KS Hosalikar, IMD's western region deputy director-general said, "There is still time for Monsoon to reach here. However, in the next 3-4 days will be breezy and there could be light rainfall in many places in Mumbai. In addition to this, Monsoon is expected to arrive in Mumbai really soon".
We sure hope that Monsoon arrives at the their usual time and offer much need relief to Mumbai from the heat.
