December is usually a dry month for Mumbai. But this has been an unusual year so far and this month is going to be no different. According to MET department, there could slight rainfall in parts of Mumbai and nearby areas from December 3 to 5.

It is expected that there will be scattered rains over some more parts of Maharashtra including Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra during the next 24 hours. The reason for this rain is to the formation of low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea. However, this rain spell will not persist as the Low-Pressure Area will move in north/northwest direction and will intensify gradually into a Well-Marked Low-Pressure Area and subsequently into a Depression.

The rains are making a comeback in Mumbai after a gap of 20 days. The last few days have been quite hot and humid. The maximum temperature recorded on December 2, was 25 degrees. It is expected that with this spell of rainfall the temperature might come down slightly.

Post-December 5, there is no major weather activity has been forecast for a week or so.
