Monsoon rains have become active once again in the state, and the Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rains will increase along the entire Konkan coast including Mumbai. It is estimated that Mumbai may record 90 to 120 mm of rain, especially between July 2 and 3.

According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area located in South India is moving towards the border of Madhya Pradesh, due to which this system is affecting the Konkan coast. This climate change is also likely to increase the strength of the winds. As a result, there is a possibility of heavy rain. 

There is a possibility of relatively heavy rainfall, especially in the northern suburbs of Mumbai, such as Borivali, Kandivali, Dahisar, and Malad. While the intensity of rainfall will be comparatively less in South Mumbai. Meanwhile, a warning of heavy rain has been issued for Palghar district and the Western Ghats.


Low pressure area to move towards Central India

A low pressure area off the coast of West Bengal and Bangladesh has made landfall and is over Jharkhand and surrounding areas. This system is likely to gradually move westwards and approach Central India. Cyclonic winds are blowing along it at a height of 7.6 km above sea level. A low pressure area with monsoon in mind is active from Ganganagar to Rohtak, Kanpur, Varanasi, Digha to east central Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rain: Mumbai, Thane, Palghar

Extremely heavy rain: Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik Ghat area, Kolhapur Ghat, Satara Ghat area

Rain with gusty winds forecast: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia, Nagpur

Light showers forecast: Pune, Ahilya Nagar, Sangli, Solapur, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv

Rainfall forecast for the state in July

The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall in the state in the month of July. The Meteorological Department has forecast 106 percent of the average rainfall in the month of July.

The state's Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions are likely to receive above average rainfall. The Meteorological Department has forecast above average rainfall across the country. At the same time, it has been predicted that the maximum temperature in the country in July will remain below average. 

Meanwhile, the rainfall in the state in June reached the average.  However, the rainfall was uneven. However, in the month of July, there is a possibility of good rainfall across the state. There is a possibility of average to above average rainfall in all parts of the state.
