United for Change along with Aarey Conservation group and various other NGO's like Muse Foundation, NaturalisT movement, Avni the tigress, Abhivyakti, Yeoor environmental society, etc will form a peaceful human chain to create awareness of issues like depleting forests and wildlife at NCPA, Marine Drive on Saturday March, 30.

This is to draw the attention of the people and the concerned authorities that the various environmental groups, animal rights groups, citizen groups and other collectives in and around the city of Mumbai are finding the need to combine forces in order to combat the ever-rising assault on the city’s greens.

They feel that given the rate at which Mumbai is losing its green cover and ecologically sensitive spaces, our country is in a state of ecological emergency and that everyone must do something about it urgently that too on a scale that will make a difference.

To this end, they are arranging a human chain on March 30 at around 4:30 pm at Marine Drive, so as to present a united front to the policymakers and speak out in a non-violent, calm and poised manner against the destruction of the city’s invaluable greens, wildlife, tribal lives, wetlands and coastal line of Mumbai.

A member from the organizing committee said, "We feel honoured to invite everyone who is concerned about the survival of this planet to be a part of this team, to help organize and participate; to form a larger collective that may safeguard the ecological interests of not just this generation, but for all the future generations that are yet to come.
