Mumbai temperature may soar to 35°C by Tuesday: IMD

On Sunday, IMD Colaba observatory recorded maximum temperature of 33°C and IMD Santacruz observatory recorded temperature of 33.1°C, while humidity levels remained high

Mumbai temperature may soar to 35°C by Tuesday: IMD

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, the temperature may touch 35°C on Tuesday. Over the last few days, in Mumbai, the temperature was around 32°-33°C.

On Sunday, the IMD Colaba observatory recorded maximum temperature of 33°C and IMD Santacruz observatory recorded temperature of 33.1°C while on Saturday, the maximum temperature recorded was 32.5°C and 33°C respectively.

However, humidity levels remained high as the Colaba and Santacruz observatories recorded 77 per cent and 71 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Colaba recorded minimum temperature of 25.5°C and Santacruz observatories recorded minimum temperature of 24.4°C.  

Ajay Kumar of IMD Mumbai told TOI,

There is a trough from the western parts of Rajasthan to coastal Karnataka, therefore northerly winds are expected to bring in dry air."
