The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for parts of the Konkan region, forecasting rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next few days.
According to officials, areas in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Badlapur, Uran and Panvel, are likely to witness light to moderate showers. Mumbai city may also experience brief spells of rain and thundershowers.
Neighbouring districts such as Thane and Raigad are expected to see relatively stronger weather activity under the alert.
The IMD has cautioned that the rainfall may be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, advising residents to remain alert during sudden weather changes.
The rainfall is attributed to ongoing pre-monsoon activity over the Konkan region. While showers may bring temporary relief, hot and humid conditions are expected to continue in the region.
