Bappa takes a break
Prabhadevi - Hear, all ye Ganesha devotees! If you are visiting the Siddhivinayak Temple in the next few days, please bear in mind that Bappa will not be able to meet you.
The deity is very much present at the sacred precincts, but from 18 January - 22 January Ganesha will be smeared in vermillion, as part of a regular ritual called the 'Sindoor Lepan' during which the idol is not visible for regular devotees. A replica of the lord Ganesha has been set up instead for the devotees to seek blessings from in these five days. On 23 January at 1.00 p.m. after the Ganesha aarti, Bappa will be back in all his resplendent glory for all his devotees.
