Holi celebrations are already underway in Mumbai. There are plenty of kids with their water balloons. Tonight there will also be Holika Dahan across the city. However, the one at Mumbai's BDD Chawl in Worli will be a special one. The people of the BBD chawl are planning to burn the effigy of 'Coronasur'. They have coined this word by combining the word Corona from coronavirus, which is the novel deadly virus that has taken the lives of 3,800 people the world over. And with this, they have combined the word asura, which means demon in English.

The Holika Dahan will take place on the night of Monday, March 9. As per the Hindu mythology, on this day, Lord Vishnu killed Holika in order to save his devotee Prahlad. The significance of this story is that it talks about the power of faith and worship against evil.

It is noteworthy that when Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray too had talked about the preparations in the state for Coronavirus (Convid-19 ) even he had mentioned that he wishes the virus burns in the Holi fire.

So far there are 43 cases that have been reported in the country. So far, there are no active cases in the city.

in the year 2018, residents of BDD Chawl residents had burnt an effigy of Nirav Modi. He is an Indian businessman who is said to be behind India's largest bank scam - the Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case. Modi has been on the run ever since the scam came to light.

Guess if RBI had imposed the restriction on Yes Bank earlier, we might have seen effigy of Rana Kapoor too at this Holika Dahan.
