The 27th edition of IIT Mumbai's 'TechFest' has been announced. This year the festival will be held on December 27, 28 and 29, 2023. This year's 'TechFest' is based on the concept 'The Mystical Realm: Where Imagination Meets Reality'.


ISRO chief Dr. S. Somnath, Chairman of Reliance Jio and industrialist Akash Ambani will interact with the attendees at the festival. Various activities like 'Lecture series guided by veterans', 'International Robowar', 'Science and technology related innovation competition, games and exhibitions', 'Fintech and Industry Summit under International Summit' will be held. Students from national and international level have enrolled in this year's Techfest and Indian educational institutions and international universities have participated.


Reliance Jio chairman and industrialist Akash Ambani is going to guide the students about telecom and digital services in the country on the first day of the lecture series under 'Techfest' on Wednesday, December 27. Also exhibiting India's latest Bofors 40mm Automatic Gun L/70, Tron Boys Kriv – Indoor Tex, International Drone Racing Competition, Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Also various competitions like Robotics, Meshmirize, 'Hack-A-I', Techfest Olympiad, Robocap League, RoboSoccer, Roborace, Robosumo will be held. Also, in both the 'Fintech and Industry 4.0' summits, experts from the technology and manufacturing sectors from around the world will come together and give guidance.


On the second day of Techfest, on Thursday, December 28, the head of the Indian Space Research Organization, i.e. ISRO, Dr. S. Somnath is going to interact with the attendees about the space sector and India's space missions, his own progress and experience, India's future in space research. Weapons of Indian Army and NSG Commands can also be seen on display.On Friday, December 29, Harsh Bir Sangha of the UK Space Agency, CERN Senior Scientist Prof. Dr. Albert de Roque will lecture on physics-based and how to use science and technology for sustainable development to address global challenges, followed by Olga Algerova, former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

Also highlights will be the Tomorrowland Main Stage Duo Matis and Sadko performing at 7pm, the finale of 'Full Throttle', the International Exhibition of 'Hologram' and the 'Auto Expo'. The Sotha ceremony will take place between 6 pm. Techfest Committee has requested to visit the official website http://www.techfest.org to get information about various competitions and activities of Techfest to be held during the academic year 2023-24.


The war of robots will take place

The exciting international 'Robowar' competition, which attracts everyone at Techfest, will be held in 15, 30 and 60 kg weight categories this year as well. The qualifying round of the tournament will be held on Wednesday, December 27 and the final on Thursday, December 28. Various robots like Brazil's Riobotz, South Korea's Timorbi etc. will participate in this international robowar. The winning team will be awarded with the title of 'Robowar Champion' and a prize of lakhs.



Workshops based on science and technology

Workshops have been organised for the students on topics related to science and technology like machine learning, artificial intelligence, block chain etc. IIT professors and experts in related fields will guide the students in these workshops. Students must register at techfest.org/workshops to participate in these workshops.
