The Thane Municipal Corporation has decided to implement a time-bound registration facility to avoid crowding for Ganesh idol immersion. The place, date and time for immersion will have to be booked online before going for the idol immersion. The facility for this will commence from September 1.
Considering the speculation of a possible third wave, the decision to provide an online time registration facility through the DigiThane system for immersion of Ganesh idols has been undertaken this year as well by the Mayor, Thane Municipal Corporation, Naresh Mhaske and Municipal Commissioner of Thane Dr. Vipin Sharma. Last year, over 11,000 citizens had availed of this facility.

Thane Municipal Corporation has provided 33 places for Ganesh immersion this year. Online time registration facility for immersion of idols through the DigiThane will be available at 13 artificial ponds and 20 idol acceptance centres. For this, the municipality has appealed to all to register the time for immersion on the website: http://www.ganeshvisarjan.covidthane.org/
