On the occasion of Cinco De Mayo, Lower Parel's Mexican eatery 'Xico' is hosting a party this weekend and there's some Mexican magic coming your way.

The Mexican restaurant will be serving a festive menu that includes margaritas, palomas and cocktails infused with tequila and mezcal.

Served by three of Asia's top bartenders, Peter Chua, Michael Callahan and Arijit Bose, the masterminds behind Singapore's 28 Hong Kong Street, ranked 25 on a list of the world's 50 best bars and number four among Asia's 50 best bars in 2017, this festival will definitely light up your weekend Mexican style.

As they get your spirits high with their concoctions, DJ A-Train, a turntable artiste from Miami, will help you shake a leg on the dance floor. Also, don't miss out on Xico's taqueria-styled menu by chef Jason Hudanish, who will serve up gaucamole, flautas, empanadas, tacos, tostadas, quesadillas and pasteles.

What is Cinco De Mayo?

Cinco De Mayo (Spanish for "Fifth of May") is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico. In the U.S. the date has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. In Mexico, the commemoration of the battle continues to be mostly ceremonial, such as through military parades.
