Navi Mumbai registers 100 new COVID-19 cases; three deaths

100 new COVID-19 cases were found in Navi Mumbai taking the caseload up to 49,867 while three have lost their lives.

Navi Mumbai reported 100 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (December 16) talking the tally up to 49,867. While 47,802 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, three deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,022. At present 1,043 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 95 per cent.

On Wednesday, 30 new cases were found in Belapur, 24 in Nerul, nine in Vashi, eight in Turbhe, ten in Koparkhairane, eight in Ghansoli and 11 in Airoli.

While, the recovered patients are 15 from Belapur, 30 from Nerul, 13 from Vashi, eight from Turbhe, 19 from Koparkhairane, four from Ghansoli, seven from Airoli and one from Digha.

Maharashtra reported 4,304 new COVID-19 cases, 4,678  recoveries and 95 deaths on Wednesday (December 16), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,80,893. There are 61,454 active cases in the state and 17,69,897 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 48,434 in Maharashtra. In total 1,18,71,449 people have been tested in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, India reported 24,010 new COVID-19 cases, 33,291 recoveries and 355 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 99,56,558 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday (December 16). While in total 94,89,740 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,44,451 in the country. At present, there are 3,22,366 active cases. According to the ICMR, 15,78,05,240 samples have been tested up to December 16.
