Prince's father Pannelal Rajbhar registered a case against the hospital authorities for negligence in Bhoiwada Police Station and the investigation is underway. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had offered compensation of ₹5 lakhs to the family which they had turned down. The civic authorities have now increased it to ₹10 lakhs, which the parents have accepted.

The post-mortem report had revealed that Prince had died owing to septicemia caused by the deep and superficial burns, which led to the cardiac arrest. The ECG Machine and monitor have been seized and the investigation is still underway.

2 months after this incident, BMC has finally drafted an all-inclusive compensation policy for negligence by hospital authorities. A policy that was earlier limited to only Sewerage Operations Department has been changed to include all other departments in case of negligence. The policy is expected to be implemented by the end of 2020.

Earlier, only workers and staff members of Sewerage Operations Department were entitled to compensation. There was no provision for cases of medical negligence. However, now the new policy will apply to all other departments. Moreover, the policy will not only cover death but also disability and partial disabilities caused by the hospital's negligence.
