Earlier in the evening, the health minister of state, Rajesh Tope informed that the total number of people that have tested positive in thr state has increased to 26. Elaborating thr same, he mentioned that out of these 26, 10 cases are from Pune, five for Mumbai, one from Kamothe, one from Kalyan, four from Nagpur, one from Nagar, two from Yavatmal and one each from Thane and Navi Mumbai.
Furthermore, he shared one person who returned from a foreign country yesterday, died today at district hospital in Buldhana. It has not been confirmed if he died due to Coronavirus. His test sameple has been collected and sent for test and the report is awaited. He did not disclosed which country the deceased had visited.
He reiterated that this was not a situation to panic and people should try and maintain social distance.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar also mentioned that cinema chains, gyms and sports complex have been asked to remain closed till March 31. Anyone found violating this lock down will be fined.
Later Aaditya Thacker took to his Twitter to announce that the Epidemic Act, 1897 has been invoked and safety measures are the top priority right now.
He urged tour operators to comply with global, national and state level directives and cancel all tours immediately.
Aaditya Thackeray added, "The state govt has issued orders to temporarily close down all educational institutions (including private tutions) in urban areas, malls (all establishments within it, except for groceries and essentials), swimming pools, theatres and malls. Strictest compliance to be ensured. " He insisted that it was not the time to panic and also assured that the grocery stores will remain open. Lastly, he advised people to avoid crowded places and social gatherings.

I suggest that all tour operators immediately comply with the global, national, state directives, suspend all tours. Safety measures are of topmost priority.
BMC too sharing an update about Coronavirus, tweeted that as on March 14, 320 people have undergone a test, out of this results of 53 are pending. Tests for 258 people have come negative and nine have come positive. Out of these nine, five are from Mumbai.
As per the health ministry, there are 84 active cases in India. The site was last updatedat 4.55 PM and has mentioned active cases in Maharashtra at 14. The death toll on the other hand in India stands at 2. One person from Karnataka and one from Delhi have died due to the novel coronavirus. The home ministry has announced four lakh rupees as compensation to the next of kin.
