Seventy-six new cases were reported on Friday (November 6) in Mira-Bhayandar. According to Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), four patients died due to this disease on the same day.

So far, 22,960 positive cases of corona have been reported in Mira-Bhayander and 730 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19. On Friday, 99 people recovered, which has so far crossed the figure of 21,399. Further,  area-wise data shows that 25 cases were reported from Bhayandar (East), six from Bhayandar (West) and 45 from Mira Road.

The MBMC has so far sent a total of 1,07,000 swab samples for testing of which 83,604 have turned negative while reports on 436 samples are still awaited.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Friday reported 5,027 new COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 17,10,314, while more than 11,000 patients recovered from the infection. The state also recorded 161 deaths, pushing the fatality count to 44,965.

According to the daily COVID-19 update shared by the MBMC, out of the fresh cases reported in earlier this week, 48 were new patients while the remaining 28 were contacts of people who had tested positive earlier.

Earlier, the state government had extended the lockdown till October 31. However, with an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the lockdown was extended in the Containment Zone till November 30.
