Navi Mumbai reported 82 COVID-19 cases on Monday (December 21) talking the tally up to 50,289. While 48,257 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, two deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,033. At present 1,001 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Monday, 30 new cases were found in Belapur, 22 in Nerul, nine in Vashi, 13 in Turbhe, five in Koparkhairane, seven in Ghansoli and 10 in Airoli.

While, out of the recovered patients, 34 are from Belapur, 20 from Nerul, eight from Vashi, 12 from Turbhe, five from Koparkhairane, eight from Ghansoli, four from Airoli and two from Digha.

On Monday, December 21, Maharashtra recorded 2,834 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 18,99,352. Currently, there are 59,469 active cases in the state. With 6,053 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 17,89,958.

With the outbreak of the coronavirus, 55 people have lost their lives a total of 48,801 people in the state have died owing to the contagious disease. While 5,04,938 persons are under home quarantine, 3,579 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.24 per cent, and 2.57 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 19,556 new cases, 30,376 recoveries and 301 deaths taking the tally up to 1,00,75,116 on Monday, December 21. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 96,36,518 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,46,111 in the country. At present, there are 2,92,518 active cases. According to the ICMR, 16,31,70,557 samples have been tested up to December 21.
