According to reports, amidst the rise in cases of coronavirus, especially in Navi Mumbai, Belapur has reported the highest number of cases which is 18.63 per cent in all of the eight wards.

Nerul has the most recoveries at 96.62 per cent with the lowest case fatality rate at 1.73 per cent against the highest of 2.43 per cent in Turbhe.

Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, March 7, Maharashtra recorded 11,141 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus which propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 22,19,727. Currently, there are 97,983 active cases in the state. With 6,013 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered cases soared to 20,68,044.

Moreover, 38 people from the state have lost their lives to the contagious disease in the last 24 hours whereas the total number of deceased has now mounted to 52,478. While 4,39,055 persons are under home quarantine, 4,650 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 93.17 per cent, and 2.36 per cent respectively.

In addition, Mumbai clocked 1,360 fresh cases of the coronavirus, 1,020 recoveries and five deaths on Sunday taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 3,33,564. According to the civic body of Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), there are 10,731 active cases whereas 3,10,451 patients have completely recovered so far. At present 34,16,761 tests have been conducted by the BMC. On the other hand, there are 18 contaminated zones in slums and chawls whereas 190 buildings have been sealed by the civic body.
