The public health department of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) virtually launched a “Difficult to treat TB Clinic”. The civic body highlights that the clinic entails a range of facilities that include faster aid for patients and reduced commute time.

This according to them will enable the restricted spread of TB, while simultaneously augmenting the learning capacity of District DRTB Centres.

The civic authority took to Twitter to share the list of Nodal and District DRTB Centres in Mumbai. The city has 24 DR-TB clinics that entail four nodal centres attached to medical colleges.

Through the virtual tuberculosis clinic, senior doctors from medical colleges and other healthcare providers will help address such cases.

According to accounts, doctors will provide opinions within 48 hours. Apart from this, the case studies will be discussed every month virtually in an attempt to share knowledge and help build knowledge.

Based on accounts, Dr Mangala Gomare, the executive health officer of the BMC, elaborated on how the virtual conferences will be held once a month for adult cases and once in two months for paediatric cases.
