Maharashtra Reports 10,483 Coronavirus Cases In 24 Hours, 300 New Deaths

While a total of 25,69,645 people have been tested so far, there are currently 1,45,582 active cases across Maharashtra.

Maharashtra reported 10,483 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 4,90,262. As 300 more people succumbed to the deadly virus, the state’s death toll has gone up to 17,092. As per the state health department, the fatality rate in the state has reached 3.49 per cent. 

In the last 24 hours, 10,906 patients were recovered and discharged from the hospitals, and so far, the state has recorded about 3,27,281 recoveries. While a total of 25,69,645 people have been tested so far, there are currently 1,45,582 active cases across Maharashtra. The state health department also mentioned that the recovery rate has reached 66.76 per cent in the state.

The state’s capital city Mumbai recorded 862 new coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the caseload to 1,21,027 in total. With 45 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the fatality toll has gone up to 6,690. According to the data provided by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), about 1,236 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours, and the recoveries have gone up to 93,897. There are currently 20,143 active cases across the city. 

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) registered 2,597 fresh cases on Friday, which took the total tally of the region to 2,59,875. With 121 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the fatality toll has gone up to 10,492 in the region. 

Meanwhile, Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) witnessed 2,620 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload of the region to 1,02,884. The region registered 54 new deaths on Friday, which took the death toll to 2,344. A total of 73,509 people have recovered from the deadly infection and been discharged in the region. 

The number of coronavirus cases in India has reached 20,88,61 so far and the overall death toll has climbed up to 42,518 in the country. About 13,78,105 patients have recovered so far and there are 6,19,088 active cases across the country.
