Kandivali- Relatives of patients, made to wait for treatment since the early hours today, raised a furore at Shatabdi Hospital this morning. The relatives were irked when doctors did not visit the patients since morning. When the relatives asked the security guards, they were told that the doctors were in a meeting. Hospital medical superintendent Krushnakant Pimpale said that on Saturday night, an angry relative had beaten up a resident doctor. The miffed doctors at the hospital decided to strike work on Monday.
After filing a complaint, Kandivali police assured the doctors of adequate protection. The doctors have threatened another agitation if the promised action is not undertaken soon.
However, the doctors resumed work after the police intervention.
