It has now become the norm for the concerned agencies to reconcile the number of deaths registered owing to the pandemic. With only a few days into the month, 2224 reconciled deaths have been added to the state's tally. Similarly, the tally of recent deaths added stood at 1709 in the same period.

This reconciliation exercise gained traction on May 17. Apart from the last two days of June and the first two days of July, the state has made adjustments to the total death tally, nearly every day. 6207 old deaths were added in May, whilst on the other hand, 19059 were added in June. Since the onset of the reconciliation exercise, approximately 27500 deaths have been added, besides those reported in the 48-hour gap. The highest number of reconciled deaths were calculated in Pune. 194 were added on Sunday, of which 154 were from Pune, 18 from Sangli amongst the many. Maharashtra, on Sunday, added 8535 new cases, taking the total tally to 6157799. In 48 hours,156 deaths were added, some of which were added last week, over the 194 reconciled deaths. 125878 is where the state's overall tally stands.

Mumbai on the other hand reported 555 cases, 15 deaths, 666 positive patients recovered and discharged, 34980 total tests on July 11, Sunday.

The public health minister of Maharashtra, Rajesh Tope has recommended to the CM, that some restrictions should be brought into force for those entering the state, owing to the possible third wave. He said that not only should the entry in the state be made based on a negative covid test report, but also based on the individual taking both jabs.
