After the success of bike ambulance, the Maharashtra government is working on 'cycle ambulance'. Based on the United Kingdom model, the government is planning to launch this scheme as a pilot project and it will be launched in Mumbai soon.

Focusing on senior citizens, a kit full of essential medicines along with a paramedic will be available on this cycle ambulance. Currently, there are 20 motorcycle ambulances in the city and soon, five such ambulances will be started in Palghar too.

Since the launch of bike ambulance service, in last two year, these ambulances have received more than 1,500 calls.
