Maharashtra registers 5,229 new COVID-19 cases; 127 deaths on December 4

Maharashtra reported 5,229 new COVID-19 cases, 6,776 recoveries and 127 deaths on Friday (December 4), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,42,587. There are 83,859 active cases in the state and 17,10,050 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 47,599 in Maharashtra. 

Mumbai reported 813 new COVID-19 cases, 1025 recoveries and 14 deaths on Tuesday (December 1), taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 2,84,502.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, there are 12,926 active cases and 2,59,137 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 10,817 in the city. The recovery rate stands at 91 per cent. At present 19,55,342 tests have been conducted by the BMC. There are 450 contaminated zones in slums and chawls while 5,369 buildings are sealed by the BMC.

Meanwhile, India reported 36,652 new COVID-19 cases, 42,533 recoveries and 512 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 96,08,211, according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday (December 4). While in total 90,58,822 have completely recovered.

The death toll is at 1,39,700 in the country. At present, there are 4,09,689 active cases.
