Medical Oxygen Tanker on Its Way to Kolhapur Found to Be Leaking

An oxygen tanker that was on its way to coronavirus treatment facilities in Kolhapur was found to have a leakage. 

The tanker left from Navi Mumbai while the incident reportedly took place at around 6:15 PM on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway. 

Police on the spot said that the tanker was carrying liquid medical oxygen (LMO) while clarifying that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Satara Police.

As soon as the leak was identified, local police in Satara were alerted while a technical team also arrived on the scene.

The issue was then fixed and the tanker was allowed to carry on to its original destination. Although it is learnt that oxygen was leaking out of the tanker, officials haven’t disclosed the quantity of LMO wasted during this ordeal. 

Oxygen wastage has been witnessed across the country in some form, including Maharashtra, with a recent leakage at a Nashik hospital leading to the deaths of 24 patients.
