The Jain community in Mumbai has started a pharmacy store in Dadar and they have decided to give a 25 percent discount on all medicines.

Sri Vardhaman Sthanakavasi Jain Shravak Sangh of Dadar has started work through the newly started Vardhman Medical. A pharmacy store has been started at the society's Shri Karsan Ladhubhai Nisar Jain Dharmasthanak Kendra, under the community-run Shree Navneet Jain Health Centre.

This is the concept of Sri Vardhaman Sthanakvasi Jain Shravak Sangh Dadar Trustee Shantilal Maru. He said, “It has come to our attention that many online pharmacy retailers are offering drugs at discounted prices but they are pushing generic drugs along with allopathy drugs. Our idea is to make the original allopathic medicines available to people for their well-being at the same discounted price.”

Maru said, “Our activities are for the welfare of society and we do not want to make any profit from our work. Even if we make some losses, we have a lot of donors from the community.”

The Jain community in Dadar contributed to many social activities. This includes providing health care through Navneet Jain Arogya Kendra, a charity hospital in Dadar. The community plans to build a 200-bed multi-specialty hospital in its community center building at a cost of INR 250 crore, which will be raised through donations.
