Days after reports about people waiting in huge numbers for hours outside SevenHills Hospital due to CoWIN app glitches, it has been observed that many beneficiaries praised the vaccination centre and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) volunteers for its smooth and quick functioning.

A journalist Harish Kotian took to Twitter and shared his experience, “Got my mother vaccinated at Seven Hills hospital in Marol Andheri East. Super smooth process, we were out in 10-15 mins. A lot of @mybmc volunteers to guide senior citizens, no queues despite the crowd. Super impressive work. Thank you BMC.” (sic.)

Another professional, Drashti also praised the vaccination at the hospital and wrote, “Smooth vaccination process. Mom got registered and vaccinated today at Seven Hills. So did all my uncles and aunts! Pretty impressive. This vaccination drive is not easy and India is killing it!” (sic.)

Moreover, amid an increase in coronavirus cases, a high footfall of beneficiaries continued at vaccination centres as Mumbai has vaccinated 4.76 lakh people so far. Besides, 0.1 per cent – at least 507 – have suffered minor or major adverse events. The city has vaccinated half of this pool in the last week. Of the 2.35 lakh people who got immunised, 53 suffered AEFI.

Meanwhile, BMC has also geared up and aimed to increase the daily vaccination target to 1 lakh. It has said that the vaccination drive needs to be the focus has allowed private hospitals to operate for 24 hours to give COVID-19 vaccines.
