On behalf of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Health Department and under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, the Sub-National Pulse Polio Vaccination Campaign was effectively implemented in the municipal area. A total of 726 polio vaccination booths like 604 permanent, 94 transit and 28 mobile were established at various places such as clinics of private medical professionals, society offices, hospitals, railway stations, bus depots, important ports through 23 civic health centres of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
During this campaign, 58,434 children were given polio vaccination. That means 64% of the expected beneficiary children have been vaccinated. 5,59,945 households were informed about the Polio Vaccination Campaign through Civil Health Centres under the slogan 'Two Drops Every Time, Polio Victory Every Time'. Also, public awareness was created in the work area through Asha and ANM.
Apart from this, information was widely disseminated through 730 banners and 2936 posters in the municipal area. More than 2,000 staff and volunteers at the vaccination booth were given vaccination training. However due to some reasons the expected beneficiary children could not be vaccinated. Door-to-door pulse polio dose is planned from May 29 to June 02, 2023
