In the last two months, malaria and dengue have spread in Thane district and 653 cases of malaria and 505 cases of dengue have been detected in the last two months. Along with malaria, dengue, 106 cases of diarrhoea, 27 swine flu and 6 cases of lepto have been found in Thane municipal area. Due to this, there is a picture of epidemic diseases in the district.


Epidemic diseases like malaria, diarrhoea, dengue, swine flu, lepto rise during the rainy season. Various measures are taken by the health department to prevent the spread of these diseases. As a part of it, a public awareness campaign is implemented by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) as well as the district administration. 


In this, public awareness is created about what to take care to prevent epidemic diseases through posters. At the same time, smoke is being sprayed in the city. Household water storage is checked. If mosquito larvae are found in it, they are destroyed. Although such measures have been implemented this year too, the picture of epidemic diseases in the district can be seen.

In the last two months, 2 lakh 6 thousand 288 patients were tested in Thane district. Out of this, 653 patients were diagnosed with malaria. Out of this, 284 patients were found in the month of July and 369 patients were found in the month of August. So, 1,486 dengue suspected patients were tested for blood. In this, 505 patients were found to be infected with dengue. In this, 250 patients have been found in the month of July and 255 in the month of August. Considering the statistics of the number of patients, it is seen that the number of malaria and dengue patients has increased in the month of August.



Epidemic Diseases in Thane Municipal Area

In the last three months, 249 malaria patients have been found in the Thane municipal area. The number of these patients have started increasing from the month of July and 93 patients have been found in the month of July and 135 in the month of August. 9 cases of dengue have been detected in June, 31 in July and 38 in August. 3 cases of Jaundice have been found in the month of July and not a single patient has been found in the month of August. 8 cases of swine flu have been detected in June, 133 in July and 27 in August. 1 patient of Lepto has been found in June, 23 in July and 6 in August.
